Me and my Wife Dropped by to Catch Up with Guru Amma to Interview Another Cancer Story but Ended Up Learning About Autism Healing

Two weeks ago, me and my wife had the opportunity to visit Guru Amma—not just to catch up with her, but also to interview Dr. Kalpana from Perak, who is a longtime friend of Guru Amma.
Dr. Kalpana had an incredible story: back in the ‘90s, when mainstream medicine failed to treat her son’s cancer, she turned to Guru Amma, and long story short, he was healed. So this is the real purpose of my visit. I wanted to interview Dr Kalpana and hear her story.
But when I arrived, Dr. Kalpana couldn’t make it. Instead, I met another guest—a woman named Krisna, who was there with her two adult sons. What caught my attention was the reason they were there: they came to thank Guru Amma for helping her sons with their autism over 20 years ago.

Wait… What? Treating Autism?
This immediately piqued my interest because, as far as I know, autism doesn’t have a “cure.” There are therapies, support systems, and ways to manage it, but a complete transformation? That’s something I had never heard of.
It turns out Krisna only found out recently that it was Guru Amma’s herbal medicine that helped her sons all those years ago. She had initially received the treatment through Dr. Kalpana and another doctor called Dr. Amar Khan (who has passed away), but no one had told her the original source of the remedy until now. That’s why she came back—to personally express her gratitude.
So, naturally, we dug deeper into Krisna’s story. She explained how, after taking the herbs, her sons showed remarkable behavioral improvements. Today, they are independent and living normal lives—something many parents of autistic children can only dream of. This was huge.

Testimony of Krisna’s Sons
Krisna shared that when her sons were young, they had severe autism symptoms. They struggled with communication, had difficulty focusing, and exhibited repetitive behaviors that made daily life extremely challenging. She tried different therapies and interventions, but nothing seemed to make a real difference.
After taking the herbal treatment given by Guru Amma, she started noticing gradual changes. Her sons became more attentive, their speech improved, and they could interact better with others. Over time, they gained the ability to function independently. Now, they are working and living on their own—something she never imagined would be possible.
For Krisna, this wasn’t just improvement—it was a complete transformation. That’s why she came back after all these years, to finally meet and thank the healer who unknowingly gave her family a new life. She teared up so much that I ended up becoming emotional as well 🥺🥺
While we are there, I managed to record a short video of these 2 boys. And they can really function independently.
And if you see the video, yes, they can cook on their own. Which is amazing.
While we were there, they also managed to take a shower on their own. And after that they were playing with their phone as well. Then Thas even scold his younger brother Naveein for playing with the phone too long 🤣Which is super incredible!
Another Case of Autism Improvement?
As we continued our conversation, Guru Amma recalled another case: Dr. Sasikala’s child, who is currently undergoing treatment and also showing incredible progress.

Dr. Sasikala’s child was diagnosed with autism at a young age, facing similar challenges with speech, attention, and social interaction. Conventional treatments helped to some extent, but the progress was slow and limited.
When she decided to try Guru Amma’s herbal remedy, she was cautiously hopeful but didn’t expect miracles. However, within months, she started noticing significant changes. Her child’s speech improved, she became more responsive, and her ability to engage with others increased dramatically. Teachers and therapists even commented on the unexpected improvement.
Now, her child is on track to living a more independent and fulfilling life. For Dr. Sasikala, this experience reinforced her belief that alternative medicine might hold answers that modern science has yet to fully explore.
In her own words she said this:
“As a doctor, I was trained to think purely in medical terms.
But as a mother, I was willing to open my mind to possibilities beyond conventional science.”
Two separate cases, both showing significant changes after being treated by Guru Amma’s herbal remedies.
I was fascinated but also skeptical. Could Siddha medicine really help children with autism? How does it work? What herbs are used? And why isn’t this more widely known?
Guru Amma’s Method
We then further asked Guru Amma about her approach. She explained that her treatment isn’t just about giving herbs—it’s about understanding the child’s body, balancing their energies, and addressing deep-rooted imbalances in their system. The herbs, she said, help detoxify the body, improve brain function, and enhance communication abilities.
It sounded intriguing, but I couldn’t help but think: if this works, why hasn’t it been scientifically studied and proven?
Science vs. Traditional Medicine
I’ll be honest—I’m someone who values science and research. At the same time, I also believe that science doesn’t have all the answers. There are things in this world that can’t always be explained through medical journals or clinical trials.
Take, for example, the miracles of Lourdes, where people (both christians and non-christians) have experienced miraculous healings through faith and prayer. Even the Vatican carefully vets these cases before recognizing them as true miracles. If divine healing can exist beyond scientific explanation, could there be truths in ancient healing practices that modern medicine has yet to fully understand?
So Would I Recommend This?
After hearing Krisna’s story and seeing how her sons have thrived, I won’t dismiss this treatment outright. But as a skeptical person, I’d also want to see more evidence—more case studies, more research, and a clearer understanding of how exactly Amma’s method works.
If you’re a parent of an autistic child reading this, I’m not telling you to throw away conventional therapies. But if you’re open to exploring alternative options alongside them, perhaps this is something worth looking into.
At the end of the day, we all just want the best for our loved ones. And if there’s even a small chance that something could help, isn’t it worth considering?
This is also what I did, when chemo fails me. Call it divine intervention, but the timing and the 1-in-a-million chance encounter to get to know Guru Amma and trying out her herbs and achieve remission in 2 months is nothing short of a miracle (My cancer is Stage 4 ok, it’s literally life or death situation). You can read about the story here.
So yeah, there are some things in life that science can’t fully explain. Maybe this is one of them. But if there’s even a small chance that it could change someone’s life, isn’t it worth keeping an open mind?
